Car smashes into parked Bolton van before driver runs off
A late night crash that made an 'unbelievable noise' has devastated a business, with the perpetrator running away from the scene.
The crash happened around midnight last night (July 15/16) in Chorley Old Road, near the junction with Stratford Avenue and Devonshire Road, and involved one car, a silver Volkswagen, crashing into another car, a red Volkswagen and a green van.
Both the van and the car have had to be written off, according to the owners, devastating the business that the van is essential for.
Both police and the fire service attended the scene to help the residents.

Barry Watson, who runs Bolton Van Man removals, has had to write off his van, cancelling a number of booked jobs in the coming days, with his wife, Sharon, also having her car destroyed in the crash.
A post on a local Facebook page said: "The noise was unbelievable - not sure if itâs a stolen car or whatâs going on but it looks to have taken out a few parked cars on its way."
Another resident commented: "I heard the screech and thud. Sounded like it had made a mess."

Sharon is now working with the police and shops with CCTV in the area to find out more about the incident.
The driver of the car that crashed ran away from the scene, according to Sharon, but ripped off the registration plates on the car before doing so.
Sharon said: "Itâs our car and my husbands work van who is self employed, so he has had to cancel jobs and itâs a write off.

"We didnât actually see it happen but all I know was it was a male who ripped the plates off the stolen car after the crash and ran off.
"We didnât hear anything neighbours did and woke us up. We're just waiting on CCTV from the shop and chemist now, hopefully they have picked something up.
